Content that ranks (and gets cited)
Depth, evidence and answers: what both algorithms and assistants reward. Affects: SEO + AIO
The bar keeps rising
Thin pages (a paragraph and a contact form) rank poorly because they answer nothing. Search engines reward content that demonstrates experience and expertise on the topic; answer engines quote passages that state facts cleanly with evidence nearby. The same page can win both if it's structured for extraction: a direct answer up top, well-bounded sections, facts with dates and sources.
Quantity is not the metric. One definitive page beats ten shallow ones targeting the same phrase; the shallow ones compete with each other.
What this site measures
Homepage content depth (word count as a floor, not a target), a single clear H1, descriptive H2 sections, a quotable opening paragraph, and internal linking that gives crawlers a path to your key pages.
How to improve
- Answer the page's core question in the first three sentences, then go deep.
- Structure with H2s a reader could skim as a table of contents.
- Date your facts and figures; stale numbers cost citations.
- Consolidate overlapping pages into one authoritative URL (redirect the rest).
- Write for the person; the words your audience uses are the keywords.
Common mistakes
Publishing 50 AI-generated posts nobody edits or reads. Splitting one topic across six URLs that cannibalize each other. Keyword density thinking (repeating a phrase twelve times) convinces no one, human or machine.
